Our Mission

The Ellis Foundation gets results from scholarship dollars. Not only do we provide scholarship assistance, but we back it up with a mentoring program aimed at college success and degree completion. We work directly with high school counselors to identify high school seniors who are capable, deserving and determined. Our investments in education pay dividends in responsible, self-supporting, contributing lives.

We focus our efforts on higher education and post-secondary training as a charitable investment in future leaders. Because Ellis Scholars graduate at a rate nearly twice the national average, our program is gaining recognition. As a public charity, we partner with successful individuals, families, corporations, and organizations to provide funding assistance and track students’ academic progress directly from the schools. Since 1998, we’ve committed $14 million to student scholarship assistance.

We stick with our students and commit to four years of support. Ellis Scholars are coached towards a goal: a career. We encourage them to explore career assessment, job shadowing and internships—and inspire students to be accountable, fiscally responsible, and philanthropy-minded. Many return to their hometowns and make an impact in their communities. Our students are taking charge of their lives and changing the world. We’re proud of our Ellis Scholars, and we think you’ll want to work with us to help them actualize their goals.
